Hip and knee arthroplasty | 24–25 April 2025
Overview
Jointly organised by St George’s, University of London and ORUK
A two-day consultant led course covering the basic science, clinical assessment, surgical approaches and techniques for primary hip and knee replacements, designed for trainees (ST3–ST8). Each morning of the course will consist of multiple short (15-20 min) lectures and the afternoons will consist of sawbone workshops.
While the course is not designed to be an exam preparation course, all lectures will be themed towards the required knowledge for the FRCS exam. Participants will also have the opportunity to practice performing primary hip and knee replacement during the sawbones workshop stations. By the end of the course, participants should have a solid foundation in understanding the principles in primary arthroplasty.
