Hip and knee arthroplasty | 24—25 April 2025
Overview
Jointly organised by St George’s, University of London and ORUK
This two-day consultant-led course is tailored for trainees at levels ST3 to ST8, focusing on the fundamental science, clinical assessment, and surgical techniques for primary hip and knee replacements. Each morning session features a series of concise lectures, lasting 15-20 minutes each, while the afternoons are dedicated to hands-on sawbone workshops.
Although the course is not specifically designed as an exam preparation course, the lectures are aligned with the knowledge required for the FRCS exam. Participants will have the chance to practice performing primary hip and knee replacements during the workshop sessions. By the conclusion of the course, attendees will have developed a strong foundational understanding of the principles of primary arthroplasty.
