Research Funds
We are one of the most significant funders of orthopaedic and MSK research in the UK. We also partner with leading academic institutions, healthcare organisations, societies, charities and private companies to directly fund the most innovative MSK research projects.
The BOA & ORUK are pleased to announce a joint research fellowship, with the goal of developing a pipeline of research-active orthopaedic surgeons.
Named in honour of our charity’s founder, this fund supports entrepreneurs to accelerate innovative and commercially viable ideas to solve the unmet needs of society around bone, joint and muscle wellbeing. The programme provides an investment of up to £100K in startups, in exchange for equity.
Applications will be opening on 14th April
Applications are opening in on Tuesday 6 May and closing on Friday 4 July for a full-time, 2-year research fellowship of up to £110k
The fellowship is intended for scientists, bioengineers, academic clinicians and allied health professionals who want to return to their MSK research careers after an enforced career break.
We are proud to work in partnership with The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd) to support advancements in Orthopaedics through this unique research fellowship.
