Ulnar sided wrist pain

Mr Lorenzo Garagnani qualified at Bologna University (Italy), where he trained in Trauma and Orthopaedics, mainly based at Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute. He completed his sub-specialist hand and wrist training with Fellowships in the UK, at the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Department of the Oxford University Hospitals, at The Hand Clinic in Windsor, at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, and at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London. Mr Garagnani has also obtained the European Diploma in Hand Surgery.

As a specialist Hand and Wrist Surgeon, he worked at Humanitas Clinical Institute (Rozzano, Milan, Italy), was Locum Consultant at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London, and Consultant at the Department of Hand Surgery and Microsurgery of Policlinico di Modena University Hospital (Modena, Italy) where he was joint Lead of the multidisciplinary Paediatric – Congenital Upper Limb and Hand Anomalies Service.

Mr Garagnani was appointed Consultant Hand and Wrist Surgeon at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in London in 2015. In 2017, he was also appointed Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the Faculty of Life Sciences and Medicine of King’s College London.
Mr Garagnani has a broad adult and paediatric hand and wrist surgery practice, he is author of numerous peer reviewed scientific publications and regular speaker and invited faculty member at national and international conferences and courses. Mr Garagnani is the current President of the Paediatric Hand International Society of Surgeons (PHISOS), Secretary General of the Italian Medical Society of Great Britain (IMSoGB), and sits on the International Relations Committee of the ASSH (American Society for Surgery of the Hand). He is past member of the Guidelines Committee of the SICM (Italian Society for Surgery of the Hand) and member of a number of international hand and wrist surgery societies.

Mr Garagnani’s research focuses on innovative and minimally invasive techniques in paediatric and adult hand surgery that allow reduction of surgical morbidity.
