ORUK MSK Accelerator

The 6-month immersive programme has 10 spaces available for early-career MSK researchers who want to develop their idea and transform it into an investment-ready commercial venture.

Why apply?

The ORUK MSK Accelerator package of resources and support has a cash value in excess of £80K, and includes:

• 1:1 sessions with industry-leading subject matter experts
• 20+ hours of commercialisation and entrepreneurship learning content
• Collaborative learning and opportunities to expand your network

From business modelling and analysing patient/customer needs, to understanding how investors think and what appeals to them, the programme will provide you with the tools and education to create a commercially viable product, ready to pitch to the ORUK investment committee at the end of the programme and make a positive impact on the health care community.

The programme will also provide you with the unique opportunity to collaborate with your fellow programme participants and progress together.

Who can apply?

The programme is open to UK-based early career researchers, PhD, postdocs, clinical innovators, and SME candidates.

• Your innovations must be at Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 3 or above.
• You must own, or have explicit written permission to use, exploit and commercialise the innovation’s IP* and;
• Have written support from your Tech Transfer Office.

What are the key dates?

• Application deadline: 29 September 2024 at 23:59
• Candidate interviews: 15-18 October 2024
• Programme kick-off & bootcamp (in person): 12-14 November 2024
