Paediatric trauma course | 28 June 2023
Overview
This one day paediatric trauma course is designed for junior registrars (ST3-5) and involves interactive lectures and hands on practical sessions.
The morning consists of interactive case based discussions covering the breadth of paediatric trauma. In the afternoon you will rotate through practical stations including; K wiring of supracondylar fractures, flexible IM nailing, hip spica application, and techniques for ankle fracture fixation including triplane fractures.
There will be a Q&A session at the end to clarify anything from the day.

Mr Thomas Crompton is a leading consultant orthopaedic surgeon in London, Brighton and Horley who specialises in paediatric orthopaedic surgery. His areas of expertise includes treating conditions such as trauma, hip dysplasia, flat feet and neuromuscular diseases such as cerebral palsy.
He qualified from Barts and the London Medical School and undertook his registrar orthopaedic training at Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospital. He underwent his specialist children’s orthopaedic fellowship at Westmead Children’s hospital in Sydney and the Royal London Hospital.
He is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons and the British Society for Children’s Orthopaedic Surgery.
