ORUK / RCPod virtual course on paediatric practice for podiatrists | 12 June — 17 July 2023

Overview

PLEASE NOTE: WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING PURCHASE ORDERS OR ISSUING INVOICES FOR THIS COURSE.

All webinars will be recorded, you will be able to watch these up to 12 weeks post course (10 October 2023), after which time access will be removed, with no exceptions.

Foot and ankle problems in children are common but can be challenging to get to grips with. With unique pathologies, different functional goals to adults, and the effects of growth to consider, we need to make our treatment safe, effective, acceptable and accessible to all – to children, to adolescents, and to their caregivers.

Accredited by the Royal College of Podiatry and in collaboration with Orthopaedic Research UK (ORUK), we will discuss the latest evidence-based core knowledge, including both foot and ankle conditions specific to childhood, as well as the important but less often discussed childhood-specific issues that impact on paediatric foot and ankle consultations. We tackle the controversies, the red flags and the referral criteria, and encourage a common language and understanding between podiatrists and paediatric orthopaedic surgeons (and others), to promote communication and collaboration so we can work together in the best interests of our young patients.

Suitable for all podiatrists who see children as part of their caseload, this course will also be of interest to paediatric physiotherapists, orthotists, orthopaedic surgeons and paediatricians.

  • 6 weekly virtual interactive webinars
  • Expert panel consisting of paediatric orthopaedic surgeons, specialist podiatrists and guests from other disciplines
  • Instructional content punctuated by regular interactive polls and case reflections
