BAJIS/ORUK Pump Priming Research Scheme

Bone & Joint Infection Society (BAJIS) and Orthopaedic Research UK (ORUK) will jointly fund one award at a total cost of up to £6,000 over 1 year.

Requirements

The Pump Priming Research Scheme (PPRS) will support medical trainees, academics and healthcare professionals with developing their academic skills for careers in musculoskeletal infections research. The research must be in a bone & joint-related topic.

The award will be open to applications where the applicant or supervisor is a BAJIS member. The successful candidate would be required to join BAJIS if not already a member.

Application timeline

• Application: Fri 10 April – Monday 11 May 2026 12:00 pm.
• Review and shortlist: Monday 11 May – Friday 29 May.
• Invite to interview: Monday 1 June.
• Interviews: Monday 8 June – Wednesday 10 June.

The project must start by no later than August 2027.
