BOTA x ORUK Sustainability Research Project

If you’ve got a surgical sustainability research project in the UK, either live or in the planning stages, submit your project! The best proposals will get to battle it out live at the virtual sustainability in orthopaedic surgery conference on 18th October 2025, with £1500 of seed funding available to be distributed by the judges. This is an incredible opportunity and not one to be missed!

Closing date: 30 August 2025.

Please note only UK-based projects will be eligible to apply for seed funding. Accepted authors are required to purchase a ticket and attend the BOTA x ORUK Sustainability in orthopaedic surgery virtual conference in order to present their work to the judging panel and answer questions. Submissions will be judged and successful projects selected by the BOTA national committee. Decisions regarding acceptance are final. Preference will be given to orthopaedic projects.  Projects that are not strictly within this specialty should aim to consider possible applications in musculoskeletal health.
