Toby Baring qualified from Newcastle Medical School in 2000. He did a BST at Guy’s and St Thomas’ and then undertook a postgraduate doctorate with Prof Roger Emery at Imperial College, London in 2006, looking at surgery for the rotator cuff. His postgraduate orthopaedic training was on the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital rotation in North London. In 2013 he spent a year on fellowship in Nice, France with the shoulder specialist Prof Pascal Boileau. He was appointed as a trauma and orthopaedic consultant to the Homerton University Hospital in 2015 where he is now clinical director and practices shoulder and elbow surgery. His specialist interests are in shoulder arthroscopy and joint replacement, and shoulder and elbow trauma.
