To ST3 and beyond: Principles and skills in orthopaedics | 4 July 2025
Overview
Transition to ST3 is a key career stage. This course is designed to help you progress into higher surgical training by combining practical skills in trauma and fracture management, with application and interview for ST3.
This course will cover:
- Fractured neck of femur treatment by DHS and hemiarthroplasty
- Application of external fixators in trauma, in addition to small fragment plating and intramedullary nailing in dry bone skill lab simulations
- Basic and advanced techniques
Who should attend?
Juniors pre-ST3 (foundation doctors, core surgical trainees), as well as a refresher for ST3-5 training registrars.
With a national and international teaching faculty of consultant orthopaedic surgeons, this course aims to develop the fundamental skills essential for success at ST3 level and beyond.
