What past delegates have said:

It has helped my understanding of shoulder and elbow conditions which I enjoy. Very useful as traditionally I believe most exam prep courses focused on everything but. (delegate, 2021)

It has really helped me. I feel much more confident and would now look forward to getting a shoulder/upper limb statin in the exam! (delegate, 2021)

Mr Kishan Gokaraju

Fellow, Northern General Hospital

Mr Kishan Gokaraju was a Sheffield University graduate and went on to complete his consultant training on the prestigious Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (Stanmore) rotation. During training, he gained valuable experience in major trauma and elective surgery, working with some of London’s leading upper limb surgeons. He is currently completing the Australian Orthopaedic Association accredited upper limb fellowship at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, a level 1 trauma centre in Brisbane. In this post he has been able to gain significant experience in complex shoulder-to-hand trauma and elective surgery and including microsurgery.

In addition to this, he has completed travelling fellowships in both France and North America. Having visited shoulder and elbow centres of excellence in Nice and Lyon, he did an observership with Prof Athwal at the Roth McFarlane Hand and Upper Limb Centre in London, Ontario and spent time with Dr Millett at the world-renowned Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colorado. For these, he was awarded the Seddon Society and Royal Society of Medicine Travelling Fellowship Awards and is the current British Elbow and Shoulder Society (BESS) Travelling Fellow.

Academically, he has presented work both nationally and internationally and has written both a book chapter and several published articles. He continues to be highly active in upper limb research but also has developed a significant educational portfolio which includes teaching on several ST3 Interview and FRCS(Orth) courses. Following leading and organising the Stanmore Rotation Targeted FRCS(Orth) Teaching Program for 2 years, it gives Kishan great pride to have been able to transition these skills towards initiating and organising this focused and comprehensive elbow and shoulder FRCS course.
