Foundation course on MSK regenerative medicine: Principles and techniques | 6 June 2025
Overview
This one-day intensive course is designed to introduce junior doctors and medical residents to the rapidly advancing field of musculoskeletal (MSK) regenerative medicine.
Led by Professor Paul Lee, this course offers a blend of theoretical foundations and practical hands-on training in cutting-edge regenerative treatments in orthopaedics. Participants will explore essential topics such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP), bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC), stem cells, fat cells, hydrogels, and non-invasive techniques like ultrasound-guided injections, shockwave therapy, and electromagnetic treatment.
By the end of the course, participants will have acquired the fundamental knowledge and skills needed to incorporate regenerative medicine techniques into their clinical practice, empowering them to offer innovative, minimally invasive solutions for MSK health. It will also teach the principles often overlooked in traditional surgical training, helping participants move beyond conventional approaches like steroid injections. It will provide insight into advanced regenerative therapies and set a strong foundation for future, advanced courses in applying regenerative medicine in MSK surgery.
